Bus tour advocacy campaign dedicated to Int. Day of Girl Child in Lankaran

The advocacy campaign dedicated to 11th of October - International Day of Girl Child, implemented by "Regional Development" Public Union with the financial and organizational support from the European Union, UNFPA and UN Women, continued in Lankaran after Baku, Salyan and Shamakhi regions.

During the event, organized in the framework of the campaign within the territory of the "Dostlug" park in Lankaran, local residents were given information about the value of a girl child and importance of empowering girls via distribution of leaflets and participation in interactive activities on the topic. The event attracted great interest of the participants, and in particular children who enjoyed entertaining and engaging activities such as robotics and drawing corners, organized with an aim to motivate and empower children with the focus on a girl child.

The objective of the campaign is to promote the value of girls in society and promote the importance of equal opportunities for them to realize their potential.

The campaign, to last overall 9 days, will continue with similar advocacy events in Yardimli, Imishli, Yevlakh, Sheki and Khachmaz regions.

The campaign is implemented in the framework of the "EU 4 Gender Equality: together against gender stereotypes and gender-based violence" program, funded by the European Union and implemented by UNFPA and UN Women, and "Addressing gender-biased sex selection and related harmful practices in the South Caucasus" program, funded by the European Union and implemented by UNFPA.
