UNFPA country office in Azerbaijan organized a 3-day workshop for journalists and bloggers

The UNFPA country office in Azerbaijan organized a three-day workshop titled "Increasing Gender Sensitivity in Media" for representatives of the local media. The workshop aimed to enhance the capacity of journalists and bloggers in gender-sensitive reporting within the Azerbaijani media landscape.

As part of the workshop’s agenda, there was a meeting between the representatives of the local UNFPA office and the editors and chief editors of the country's leading media organizations. During the meeting, the participants exchanged opinions and ideas on fostering gender-responsive newsrooms.

The workshop was conducted within the framework of the “EU 4 Gender Equality: Together against gender stereotypes and gender-based violence” programme, funded by the European Union, implemented jointly by UN Women and UNFPA.

Since 2016, the UNFPA Azerbaijan office has regularly organized similar workshops for journalists to achieve a sustainable effect in promoting gender sensitivity in media.
