Active Ageing project joins #stayhome campaign due to COVID-19 pandemic

The project on promoting the idea of active ageing among elderly population in Azerbaijan, jointly implemented by UNFPA Azerbaijan and Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of Population, joins the #stayhome campaign, urging old citizens not to leave their homes during the period of COVID-19 pandemic.

Initiated by the First Vice President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ms. Mehriban Aliyeva, the project aims to support the state policy aimed at improving the wellbeing of the elderly, ensuring active and healthy lifestyle for them and promoting the idea of active ageing among older persons.

During the period ahead, with the support of "Uchuncu Bahar" Public Union the project will provide for a series of online activities such as webinars and peer-to-peer discussions for the elderly using the power of social media. Along with it, a number of videos and animations will be produced and shared on social networks to support old persons with effectively organizing their leisure time as well as protecting themselves against COVID-19.
